About Us
Amour Magique (Love Magic) is a fashion line infusing magical realism with Afro/Caribbean-centric elegance.
Pamela Love joined the St. John community in 2010, but was born in Florida to a longtime seamstress and craftswoman. Through watching her mother create, Pamela developed her own love for design and creative expression. By the age of 10 she was sketching, designing and sewing her own school clothes. Pamela has engaged in an extensive self-guided journey to improve her skills in design and creation. She spent more than two decades as an event planner, owned her own bridal salon with a focus on repurposing and altering pre-owned wedding dress, created a doll line for melanated girls called "Melanin Like Me", and started her own Carnival troupe for St. John Celebration parade called L'Amour Carnival Troupe. For Pamela, designing has always been a part of her soul, and it transcends through all of her ventures past and present. Pamela's aesthetic in fashion is a mix of fantasy, whimsy, and elegance; which seamlessly blends reality with the fantastical. She lives in a world where style knows no limit, and creativity speaks volumes. She is a storyteller with her own style of language, and she loves to push the boundaries. Fairies, elves, African Queens, cosplay, Afrocentric textures, Caribbean Madras, and an occasional nod to Avant-Garde can all be seen in her creations. Pamela is also considered a zero waste designer...meaning she uses all pieces of her fabric and pattern cuttings including scraps. "I think of fashion as a concept. The idea of who we are and what we wear is constantly revolving. With that in mind, I repurpose and deconstruct garments to create sustainable fashion. My intention is to create less fashion waste on the planet one design at a time".
